TERMS AND CONDITIONS

for Leak Detection, damp services and Plumbing Works

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1 “Contractor” refers to the plumbing service provider.

1.2 “Customer” refers to the person or organisation requesting the work.

1.3 “Works” refers to leak detection services, plumbing services, drainage services, damp services, reinstatement services, repairs services, installations services, any and all services provided by the contractor.

2. QUOTATIONS & PRICING

2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

2.2 All quotations are prepared based on the information provided by the Customer. Any variations, additional works, or unforeseen circumstances may result in amended charges. Unless a fixed quotation has been formally requested and agreed in writing by the Customer, all services provided by the Contractor shall be charged on an hourly basis, per contractor. Prices are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.

2.3 Hourly rates between 8am – 5pm on weekdays are £120 plus VAT

2.4 Hourly rates between 8am – 9pm on weekends are £150 plus VAT

2.5 Hourly rates between 5pm – 9pm on weekdays are £150 plus VAT

2.6 Hourly rates between 9pm – 8am are £200 plus VAT

3. ACCEPTANCE OF WORK

3.1 By accepting a quotation, booking an appointment, or allowing the Contractor to begin work, the Customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

3.2 The Contractor may refuse any job at their discretion.

3.3 A minimum charge of one hour applies to all site visits, regardless of whether the duration of the visit is less than one hour.

4. ACCESS & RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 The Customer must provide safe, unobstructed access to all relevant areas.

4.2 The Contractor is not responsible for any delays caused by lack of access, which may result in additional charges.

4.3 The Customer must ensure pets, valuables, and personal items are safely secured.

5. MATERIAL & PARTS

5.1 All materials supplied remain the property of the Contractor until full payment is received.

5.2 Where specific parts are ordered for the Customer, a deposit may be required.

5.3 If a part becomes unavailable or discontinued, the Contractor will offer the closest suitable alternative.

5.4 All materials or parts for repairs or for any services we provide will be authorised by the customer before works are carried out, any delays in authorisation while onsite is the responsibility of the customer and is chargeable to the customer.

6. WORKMANSHIP & WARRANTY

6.1 The Contractor warrants that all workmanship will be performed with reasonable skill and care.

6.2 Workmanship warranty is typically 12 months, unless stated otherwise.

6.3 No warranty is given on:

• Customer-supplied parts

• Temporary or emergency repairs

• Issues arising from misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance

6.4 Manufacturer warranties apply to products, not workmanship

7. EXISTING INSTALLATIONS & LIMITATIONS

7.1 The Contractor is not responsible for the condition of existing pipework, fixtures, or appliances.

7.2 The Contractor may refuse to work on systems deemed unsafe or non-compliant.

7.3 Work on older systems may expose additional faults; the Contractor is not liable for such issues arising during or after the works.

8. PAYMENT TERMS

8.1 Payment is due immediately at the end of each visit unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance.

8.2 Deposits for materials or large projects are non-refundable once parts are ordered.

8.3 Late payments may incur interest at 8% + Bank of England base rate, plus reasonable recovery costs.

8.4 The Contractor may suspend work if payments are not made on time.

9. CANCELLATION

9.1 More than 24 hours’ notice: no charge.

9.2 Less than 24 hours: a one hour cancellation fee will apply.

9.3 Special-order materials may be non-returnable.

10. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

10.1 The Contractor holds public liability insurance.

10.2 The Contractor is not liable for:

• Losses caused by pre-existing faults

• Accidental damage caused by defective or hidden pipework

• Consequential losses (e.g., loss of earnings, accommodation costs).

10.3 The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate home insurance is in place.

11. COMPLETION AND SIGN OFF

11.1 Once the Customer confirms that the work is completed, or begins using the system, the job is deemed accepted.

11.2 Any snagging issues must be reported within 7 days.

12. WASTE REMOVAL

12.1 Standard waste removal is not included unless stated otherwise.

13. GOVERNING LAW

13.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the relevant UK jurisdiction (England & Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland).

13.2 Any disputes shall be handled in the appropriate local courts.
